Following Satya Nadella’s major leadership shakeup last week, the Microsoft CEO has sent a companywide message to all staff.
The email, made public by GeekWire, highlighted changes already well underway, as well as picking out future strategies and ambitions. Among the more concrete goals were creating more personal computing and building the intelligent cloud platform: a project already well on the way with their upgrades to their Dynamics software and installing their head of Cloud and Enterprise to the Dynamics product line.
The CEO also undertook to continue successful hack events such as Hackathon and OneWeek.
“We will do more to support the culture we have and recognise impact when we see it”
Nadella’s more abstract ambitions included a focus on mobile devises, production of “best-in-class” platforms and harmonizing the interests of users. He also expressed a desire to hire people across cultural the spectrum.
“We will better serve everyone on the planet by representing everyone on the planet”, wrote Nadella in a strong commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
Already the mission statement is being praised as more straightforward than that of his predecessor, Steve Ballmer. It is thought the statement is intended to galvanise the tech giant after nearly 20,000 jobs were cut last year.
The official, condensed, mission statement of Microsoft is now to “empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more”. As professional Dynamics users, we hope, and wish Nadella every success in achieving this goal.
